Indie Bookstore Day at Niche Books

We’re getting so excited for IBD 2026 at Niche Books! Here’s everything you need to know about this celebration.

We will be part of the Twin Cities Indie Bookstore Day Passport again. With illustrations by local artist, Kevin Cannon, Passports can be picked up from any participating store between Wednesday, April 22 and Sunday April 26th (But Niche Books is closed that day! Plan accordingly! More on hours below). During those days, visit as many bookstores as you can and get your Passport stamped at each store you visit. For each stamp you get, you activate a future discount coupon for that store. Rain Taxi’s website has a full list of participants and details for your planning purposes.

Indie Bookstore Week Schedule

Wednesday, April 22 – first day you can pick up your passport! Open 10am-6pm

Thursday, April 23 – Open 10am-6pm

Friday, April 24 – Open 10am-7pm

IBD 2026 Special Activities

We are thrilled to be participating in the Libro.fm Golden Ticket Hunt again. There will be one ticket hidden in the store on April 25th, and the person who finds it receives 12 free audiobooks! Come early in the day to hunt for the ticket, because (as good as we hide it), it’s usually found pretty early.

There will also be IBD exclusive giveaways available, along with exclusive IBD totes for sale. We’re also hoping to launch new merch that day! Stay tuned for more info on that front.

We will be running a 20% off sale on used books all day long! 40% of our inventory is used, so there are thousands of books to hunt through for a deal. Used inventory is mixed in with new and organized by genre at Niche Books, but you’ll know it’s used when you see a sticker price tag with half of list price on it.

It’s going to be a great celebration! See you there!
